Happy Wednesday loves, yay for mid-week finally being here and knowing that the weekend is right around the corner. Today on A Styled Love Affair, its all about eyelet and two tone denim and don’t be fooled you can totally wear the top two trends together.
Have you gone into your local Madewell recently? If you haven’t I do suggest going immediately or if not at least go online. I go in for one thing and end up leaving the store with a lot more than one item. From cute tops to a plethora of skirts and bottoms, that are inter-workable together it’s no wonder I leave with bags of goodies. The style is always on point, from casual must haves to the latest denim trends, Madewell is the place to go for seasonal stock ups. My seasonal stock ups at the moment besides dresses and OTS tops, are very much into eyelet and of course anything and everything denim.
This whole look today is from Madewell (hence my long raving rant about them previously) lol. I actually wore this top of the weekend and few times even before that and have received so many compliments. I really can’t wait to wear this eyelet top all season long because it is the perfect piece that will go with just about anything. A great piece that this eyelet top pairs well with are these adorable two tone denim jeans. I absolutely fell in love with them not only because of the styling but also how comfortable they are. The are super soft and so moveable and best yet super on trend from the two tone wash to the fringe hem detail. This look all together is the perfect brunch or running around town look, with all the feelings of cool girl chic.
When pairing any two trends together you definitely want to keep in mind some golden rules:
- Let one or the other stand out, which in my look today I am allowing my denim jeans to stick out but adding a pop of white to bring out the wash in my eyelet top.
2. Don’t let the textures compete with each other.
3. Break it up with a solid color, which like the 1st comment I have done as well since the denim has a lot going on. So using my top as my solid color.
4. Keep it simple. I always feel like a good rule of thumb is to yes have fun but also to keep it very simple so as so let your pieces stand out in their own ways without over powering each other.
So have you sold out Madewell yet? Ok I definitely am sounding overly obsessed but I am telling you the honest truth you will love what they have in store and will find a perfect item for you. My currently are this eyelet frill top and these two tone denim jeans perfect for my summer wardrobe with or without each other. Two fun trends that most definitely pair very well together no matter what they say.
Loves have a wonderful day
